G005 Solar Energy homework

Hello my lovely students!
I am uploading the videos for your homework. I am sorry for the delay but I saved the videos with a different name, therefore, I had to find them again in youtube. Unfortunately, the internet at school is not that good to watch videos.... So I just found them and here they are. Because I am uploading them late this assigment is due on Friday 9th of September.
The first video is about how solar energy can power an entire house. The second video is about the functioning of photovoltaic cells.

  1. The power of Three.
  2. How Solar Panels Work

Remember that you have to watch them and then write on your notebook (in a neat and organised way) which types and forms of energy you could identify and then support your answer!!! OK?
See you tomorrow then!

Hello my dear students!
Here I am posting the outline you have to follow for the presentations. The information can be found in any chemistry book, internet and youtube. Please, don't use wikipedia, it can lie!
If you want to check wha tI am going to assess, please, read the Presentation Rubric that is available on the blog in the General Information Section. I remind you the specifications of the presentations:
  1. A 10min (with 10 seconds grace) Power Point presentaion.
  2. It should include ALL the information stated in the outline.
  3. It should be a tool for your audience to UNDERSTAND the topic. Therefore, it should be didactic, graphic and easy to follow.
  4. The ppt should ONLY be used as a guide for your team and audience to follow. Therefore, it should include more images than words and should not have big chunks of copied and pasted information. If this is the case you will get penalised.
  5. All team members should present a part of the presentation (changing slides of the ppt is not a considered role).
  6. Support your information (explanations like: I agree, I like it, I think as he does, it is nice, it is pretty, are NOT accepted as information).
I know the great capacity you have, so I am sure that you will produce amazing presentations. Enjoy to be part of the intellectual develpment of your classmates and have faith in yourselves.

See you in class,
Miss Zohemy

Welcome to a new school year!

Hi guys!
You might be asking where I got the idea for the title of the blog. Well, here it is the video from where I got it. It is a remix done with the ideas of many scientists. I liked it very much because I believe that in order to appreciate something you  have to understand it. Science is the language the Universe uses to speak. It is constantly speaking and sending out a very important message, loud and clear. The only thing we have to do is open ourselves up to listen.

“It is the province of knowledge to speak, and it is the privilege of wisdom to listen.”
Oliver Wendell Holmes
